The game is stunning even though it's still an alpha-prebuild.....2. It already has a lot of movesets for just one weapon that some games can't even think to achieve...3. The characters by being silent they have a little kind of mistery and as per se the characters looks are amazing...4. Actually the difficulty is very engaging (i add it's VERY HARD, but by being so hard when u get through just the first boss is already pleasing) and tend to be realy frustrating but on my point of view, it's so charming that makes me want to play to see if i can beat the boss again and again....5. And probably my favorite aspect of the game, it's the devs they seems to be great guys with a great idea that TENDS to LISTEN it's community and also being pretty open and active with them, this already gives a game a "plus" it's not so easy to see such involved devs and this makes in my view arealy good start as an alpha game.....And then we get to the Cons:1. Even though the graphic is amazing the game has realy big problems of FPS by the problematic VSync perma-ON (it has already been in working to resolve the issue and to turn it off) and some kind of fog and light effects that tend to be a bit heavy for the eyes (BUT the graphic side of the game is already on fix state, so i don't think this con. should be took so serious, STILL it must be said)....2. At the moment the game is a bit repetitive, the number of chamber for the randomic generator it's still not high enough to make the "runs" totally different one by an another (Still, this also is a point where they are already working and i'm looking for updates).....3. The game lack a bit of content (PREMISE it's still in alpha), the enemies are pretty easy to read and even though their placement and positioning is pretty "strategic" they tend to do everytime the same thing; i'd like to see more bosses and more variety about the mobs, maybe adding some mini-bosses on the road to the end, and maybe adding some strange places that you can access some other routes by killing the boss without ever get hit (as an example)...4. As last i'd like to say that the animations is the only thing that i'm a bit of disappointed, they are realy sturdy and it seems that the characters are so heavy (i would advice to implement an animation for the turning, tilt and rotation of the characters seeing that on the keyboard you literally just change direction without even moving is pretty frustrating for such a good game).....Recap... At the end of the road the game shouldn't be rated actually so i wont give any vote but in case the game a day will meet all the premise it gives and resolve some of the problems it haves, it could even compete with the top of the roguelike genre...... As last by being an Alpha the game is amazing and just by giving the opportunity to remove this Vsync and so, fix a bit the FPS issues the game would be already freking Gorgeous and enjoyable by everyone..... This is an amazing game that feels like an infinite darksouls. I whish levels would have more rooms more to explore and fight. loot is exciting and such. It is buggy, but... hm.. i guess its fun) scratches the right itch... looks good. bosses have good design. need better music for bosses. need to replace the word "Failed" if u die with "Fallen" or something. Failed kinda sounds dumb... costumes are mostly good. idk valkyrie boss feels a bit like Artorias. Especially if u didnt do the master cultist without using any consumables. Just for the short amount of time I've played, I've come to absolutely enjoy it. There's that enjoyable 'Souls-Like' feel to it, while still holding it's own unique style to it. While still in early access and not having much to the game worth in content, I am excited to see where time will take it. Is it worth $16, yeah, I would say it is.. If you looking for a challenging game, just played through ng99 for the 18th time on every ds game, and\/or are seeking out a waifu, then this is the game for you!Now I'm going to put this out there right now, beyond the combat similarities, this game ISN'T like dark souls! Its a procedurally generated dungeon, with ds like combat, and waifus! If you take the game lightly, you will die over and over again, but trust me... you'll get the hang of it sooner or later. Now, as of right now, there isn't to much in the game, but even at it's current stage of development (keeping in mind its early access) it's worth its price. Not a doubt about that.Do you want a pros\/cons list? I can do that... it's easier then typing all this anyways.Pros: - DS like combat, if your into that. - Beautiful graphics - Waifus! - Cheep for its current price. (At this rate, I could see this game going far.) - Challenging combat - Costumes! - AchievementsCons: - A lot of vague details on what does what - It can be repetitive after your 25th + attempt - There is a grind fest in the game if your really seeking the 'optimal ability'.Neutral - It is in early access, so you can seek out more content in the future!~ but for now... there's not a ton. - There isn't custom controller mapping, but that is planned. For now you can use steam to custom map your remote.8.5\/10 (I'm hoping to raise that score in the future! ^^). Neverinth is a game with a similar play style of games like Dark Souls and Lords of the Fallen. The player will roam through a labyrinth where enemies wait for you around blind corners. Once engaged in combat, the player will find the control to be somewhat manageable after a few runs. With that aside, you feel and see that the game is still very much in early development. The graphics are decent alongside a decent frame rate as well. There is not much to the story at this moment in time, so don't expect much about what the point of this whole thing is. I assume as the player progress through more of the game they will be exposed to more of why these women are in the labyrinth. The gameplay feels okay and the controls are responsive enough. The weapons do have a different feel when you wield them. The great sword feels heavy and powerful, while the sword and shield combo feels light and quick. The enemies don't feel to challenging. They mostly just stand there until the player approaches them, or they notice the player with line of sight. To upgrade the character, there is energy the player gains when killing enemies. The energy can be used to upgrade the character while in the labyrinth. However, I don't know if the upgrades the player makes are persistent through death. It seems to be that the player unlocks new weapons that have different attributes after meeting certain prerequisites such as, killing a certain number of enemies, or using a weapon in a certain way. Neverinth still has a long way to go, but it is off to a good start.. Game looks and plays amazing even in early access. A few bugs here and there but EARLY ACCESS sums it up.
